ABOUT

KENDY VICHATHEP AND KENDY FLOORING

My name is Ketsouriya Vichathep, but everyone calls me Kendy. In 1986, my family and I came to America under the United States Refugee Act of 1980 in search for the American dream.

I was able to get a job as a machinist. Following work, I traveled to California, Minnesota, South Carolina, and eventually settled in Memphis, TN. Interested in improving myself and becoming my own boss, I decided to have a friend mentor me in my pursuit to become a quality floor installer.  I began training with my friend, and learned everything I could from him.  I had learned everything I needed to know and decided to venture out for myself. With nothing but an RV and a knack for adventure.

It’s nearly 20 years later, I am glad to say that my hard work has paid off. I have also had the pleasure to mentor others who have been able to work successfully for themselves. I have learned a lot from this job and always look forward to the next family’s home and hearts I can touch. Every day I am just as grateful for my customers as they are for me and my work, because without them, my family and I couldn’t have experienced the American Dream.

Today, my son, Kody and I run our own flooring business. I want to spread my work so everyone can have the new floors they deserve at a reasonable price. Whether it’s just a single room, or an entire house, I always strive to provide the best service possible. At the end of the day, I enjoy seeing the smiles on happy family’s faces when they see their new floors. That for me has made all the difference.
